Installation

Morning

An exhibition in collaboration with Paige Pepling
Installation: acrylic on tarp, water, paper, river rocks
Experimental Gallery at Tjaden Hall, Ithaca NY
2022

The white-walled gallery extended to the floor to gently envelop visitors in a gentle memorial. The floor was an abstraction of river rocks supporting a still reflective pool. Dusk to Mourning is a goodbye to my childhood dog. Visitors were invited to take booklets in his memory. The Schoolteacher addresses mobility: when visitors approach a progression of photographs, they trigger an audio of a paralyzed woman counting 1 - 10 through her physical therapy exercises. In Japanese, this ghostly chant envelops the visitor in her singular effort.
